Vision:
By 2041, to become a globally competitive university rooted in santri (Islamic boarding school) culture.
Mission:

To provide education based on domain competencies in accordance with national higher education standards, reflecting the culture, environment, and capacities of santri;

To conduct research aimed at discovering, developing, and disseminating knowledge, technology, and Ke-NW-an (the values and legacy of Nahdlatul Wathan) to enlighten society;

To carry out community service and empowerment programs that foster community potential in achieving welfare and self-reliance;

To implement a synergistic governance system within the university, integrating human resources, leadership, and management to create a harmonious and accountable performance based on santri culture; and

To develop multi-party partnerships in advancing the university’s Tri Dharma (three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service) at local, national, regional, and international levels.
