82 Postgraduate Students of Universitas Hamzanwadi Participate in International Student Outbound Program at MMU Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur – A total of 82 postgraduate students from Universitas Hamzanwadi participated in the International Student Outbound program at Multimedia University (MMU), Kuala Lumpur Campus, Malaysia. This program is part of the internationalization efforts in higher education as well as an initiative to improve academic quality through global experience. (3/7/2025)

The participating students came from two study programs, namely the Master's in Primary Education and the Master's in Educational Management, with a total learning duration designed to reach 5,440 minutes (90.6 class hours) through a combination of face-to-face and online learning.

The Director of Postgraduate Programs, Dr. Padlurrahman, M.Pd., commonly known as Dr. Rahman, stated that this program is not only to fulfill academic requirements but also to broaden students’ perspectives on international education systems. “This program is one of our flagship agendas. In the future, we will follow it up with an international student inbound program so that MMU students can also learn from Universitas Hamzanwadi lecturers online,” he said.

Officially Welcomed by MMU Leaders

The Universitas Hamzanwadi delegation was officially welcomed by two MMU leaders:

Dr. Thong Li Wah, Deputy Director of International Collaboration and Engagement, and Dr. Chong Choy Yoke, Deputy Dean of the Institute of Postgraduate Studies and a lecturer in the Quantitative Unit.

In his remarks, Dr. Thong Li Wah expressed appreciation for Universitas Hamzanwadi’s commitment to building cross-country academic collaboration. “We warmly welcome the delegation from Universitas Hamzanwadi. MMU is very open to establishing broader collaboration in education, research, and student exchange,” he said. He also emphasized that MMU has long experience in supporting international programs and is ready to become a strategic partner for universities in Indonesia.

Meanwhile, in her remarks, Dr. Chong Choy Yoke highlighted the importance of synergy between institutions in producing graduates who are ready to compete globally. “We highly appreciate the presence of postgraduate students from Universitas Hamzanwadi. This is a valuable form of cross-cultural and academic learning, and we hope in the future we can also send MMU students to learn online from the lecturers of Universitas Hamzanwadi,” said Dr. Chong.

Support from Universitas Hamzanwadi Leadership

The Vice Rector III of Universitas Hamzanwadi, Dr. H. Musifuddin, M.Pd., was also present and delivered a speech before MMU leadership. “This activity is a concrete form of the international cooperation we are building. I truly appreciate the work of the Postgraduate Program Director and his team for carrying out this program excellently,” he said.

This International Student Outbound activity not only strengthens the international profile of Universitas Hamzanwadi but also serves as a foundational step toward various forms of future global academic collaboration, including research, joint publications, and the development of international curriculum.
