Biopore Creation: Hamzanwadi University's Effort to Support Zero Waste

The development of the cooperation network built by Hamzanwadi University as a form of community service continues to be carried out. One by one the implementation of cooperation continues to run. This time, the implementation of the zero waste program cooperation in the form of making biopores.

Lombok Unesco Global Geopark with the Hamzanwadi Education Foundation, Hamzanwadi University, the NTB Provincial Environment and Forestry Service and the East Lombok Environment and Cleanliness Service in the Zero Waste Program making biopore holes.

"Biopore holes can be a solution to waste as well as mitigating flood and drought disasters. By making biopores or water absorption in the yards of houses and offices, more rainwater runoff enters the well's groundwater reserves.

"The effort to make biopores using simple technology but providing extraordinary benefits. Not only now but for the future of our generation," Halqi explained in his release, Wednesday (03/03/2021).

It is said that biopores are an alternative and simple technology for absorbing rainwater in addition to infiltration wells. In addition to water infiltration, biopores are also useful as household waste processors that can be applied in narrow urban residential areas.

"A simple technology but can be a solution to various critical problems in society. We just need to massively implement this program, God willing, it will be a blessing for all," he said.

The problem of waste in the community environment is still a hot issue to this day, especially that which comes from organic household waste, so biopores are one of the other ways that are also effective in reducing waste disposal to the final disposal site (TPA).

Therefore, his party invites all elements of society, especially housewives, to dispose of waste around the yard. The making is simple and does not require a large yard.

"We from Hamzanwadi University have started that. Let's protect our environment together for the good and future of the generation and anticipate the disaster of water shortages in the dry season. We support the NTB Gemilang program," he hoped.
