Developing a Cross-Study Program-Based Entrepreneurship Curriculum, Hamzanwadi University Holds Workshop and FGD
In an effort to strengthen entrepreneurship education in higher education, Hamzanwadi University held a workshop and forum group discussion (FGD) on Saturday (3/5). This activity took place in the Hamzanwadi University Meeting Room and was attended by the Chancellor along with the leadership, deans, and all heads of study programs.
Through his remarks, the Chancellor conveyed the importance for students to be equipped with knowledge about entrepreneurship. "We don't just want students to learn entrepreneurship theory, but also to experience the process of creating value directly through real projects involving various scientific fields," he said.
The workshop was opened by material from the Head of the Center for Innovation and Business Incubator (PIIB) of Hamzanwadi University, H. Moh. Farid Zaini, BA, MM., who provided material to spark discussion on the importance of integration between academic learning and entrepreneurship practices based on real projects.
After the material session, the activity continued with an FGD involving all participants. They were divided into several cross-study program working groups to formulate an initial draft of the curriculum for entrepreneurship courses that are mandatory and project-based. Each group then presented the results of their discussions to get input from other groups and the curriculum steering team.
The discussion was dynamic with various ideas emerging, ranging from case study-based learning models, mentoring by industry mentors, to the integration of social entrepreneurship in a local context.
This activity is expected to be an initial milestone in the formation of an entrepreneurship curriculum that is not only relevant to the needs of the times, but also encourages the creation of creative, adaptive graduates who are able to create jobs.
