Encouraging the Growth of Local MSMEs, PIIB Universitas Hamzanwadi Holds Mentoring for Making NIB and Halal Certification

SELONG - The Innovation and Business Incubator Center (PIIB) of Hamzanwadi University held a Workshop on Making Business Identification Numbers (NIB) and Halal Certification as part of its efforts to support the development of local micro and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The workshop, which was held on Saturday (07/07/2023), was the third activity. The aim is to provide understanding and practical guidance and assistance to MSME owners in managing NIB and obtaining halal certification.

"In addition to the workshop, this activity is also combined with the provision of Halal Certificates for MSMEs that have participated in the workshop activities last month," said Entrepreneurship Manager Muhammad Ramli, M.Pd.

The workshop was attended by more than 30 participants consisting of students, alumni and the general public who have micro and medium businesses in East Lombok and its surroundings.

Participants were given complete and up-to-date material regarding the requirements and procedures that must be followed in the NIB licensing and Halal Certification process.

In addition, they were also given information about the benefits of having a NIB and Halal Certification in increasing consumer confidence and expanding market reach.

"In an era of increasingly tight business competition, having a NIB and Halal Certification is very important for MSMEs," he explained enthusiastically.

Through this workshop, his party hopes to provide a better understanding to MSME actors about the importance of managing NIB and Halal Certification, as well as providing practical guidance so that they can manage it more efficiently.

Vice Chancellor III of Hamzanwadi University Dr. H. Musifuddin appreciated this activity. He said this was a form of Hamzanwadi University's commitment to realizing the vision of campus competitiveness in the field of entrepreneurship.

"This skill is one way to survive today, almost all fields have experienced disruption that requires all of us to adapt," he said.

This workshop involved speakers from PPH Kemenag, Abdul Rahim, S.Pd, and several expert speakers from academics and business practitioners who have experience in managing NIB and Halal Certification.

The speakers shared knowledge and practical tips with participants, including the steps to be taken, procedures for filling out forms, and how to collect and complete the required documents.

This workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to discuss and share experiences with fellow MSME actors. This provides important added value, because they can support each other and exchange information regarding business strategies, marketing, and halal product development.

"PIIB Universitas Hamzanwadi is committed to continuing to provide support to local MSMEs in increasing their competitiveness and business growth," continued Musif.
