Focusing on Quality, Rector Receives Commitment from All UPPS Leaders to Implement SPMI

Wednesday, August 6, 2025 – The Lembaga Pengembangan Pembelajaran dan Penjaminan Mutu (LP3M) or Institute for Learning Development and Quality Assurance at Universitas Hamzanwadi hosted a two-day event, beginning with a socialization of IAPS 2.0 and a workshop on developing E-Monevin instruments. The event kicked off with a commitment signing ceremony from all UPPS (Main Implementing Unit of Study Programs) leaders to implement the Sistem Penjaminan Mutu Internal (SPMI), in line with the established PPEPP ( Penetapan, Pelaksanaan, Evaluasi, Pengendalian, dan Peningkatan ) mechanism set by the rector.
In her welcoming speech, Rector of Universitas Hamzanwadi, Dr. Ir. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, M.Pd., welcomed the initiative and instructed all leaders, from vice rectors and deans to directors, program coordinators, and lecturers, to prioritize quality. "We are the frontline in ensuring quality," she emphasized. "Our target is ambitious, but it is a necessity: to become a leading study program and a leading institution. If we rely solely on our own efforts, let's work hard starting with small things like discipline, diligence in carrying out our respective duties, and, of course, supporting each other."
The Rector, affectionately known as " Ummi Rector," also urged all lecturers to improve their performance by increasing research and publications, writing books, engaging in community service, and enhancing their academic qualifications.
During the event, Ummi Rector also congratulated the university on the recent operational permit for the Faculty of Medicine’s undergraduate medical program and the professional medical education program, which is currently admitting its first batch of students. "This permit was granted because of our high aspirations, supported by our seriousness in executing various procedures, including fulfilling all necessary facilities, infrastructure, and human resources like lecturers and staff. Alhamdulillah, it all went well," she noted.
The event continued with a presentation on IAPS 2.0 by LP3M Director Dr. Padlurrahman, M.Pd., followed by workshop sessions led by facilitators. According to the event report from committee chair Atiaturrahmaniah, M.Pd., the activity was attended by 70 participants, including deans, program coordinators, faculty representatives, and their respective Quality Control Clusters. "The event will be followed by validation and a trial run of the instruments, and then inputting the instruments through E-Monevin," she added. These internal monitoring and evaluation instruments will be implemented starting in the upcoming odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.
