From Lombok to Japan: Universitas Hamzanwadi Opens Global Doors for Tourism Students

Selong  – Universitas Hamzanwadi continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to preparing graduates with a global perspective who are ready to compete internationally. This commitment is highlighted by the continued partnership with PT Indonesia Nippon Anugerah, which once again brought strategic partners from Japan: World Wings and Yukai Resort. (7/05/2025)

This visit's primary objective was to conduct interviews with students from the Tourism Study Program, who are prospective participants in an internship program in Japan. This initiative presents a golden opportunity for students to gain invaluable international work experience, particularly within Japan's renowned hospitality industry, celebrated for its exceptionally high service standards.

Dr. Muzakkar, M.Si., Vice Rector I for Academic Affairs, underscored Universitas Hamzanwadi's strong commitment to establishing and nurturing both domestic and international partnerships.

"The partnerships forged by our institution undergo thorough consideration and proper procedures. Students should have full confidence in these programs, as all initiatives are geared towards enhancing the quality and competitiveness of our graduates," emphasized Dr. Muzakkar to the interview participants.
During the same occasion, Kimura Roy, HR Recruitment Manager for Yukai Resort Japan, expressed his delight at returning to Lombok, a year after a similar recruitment process.

"I fell in love with the hospitality of the Lombok people. That's why I made efforts to ensure the interviews could once again be conducted at Universitas Hamzanwadi," he enthused.

Meanwhile, Tanaka Kiho, a representative from World Wings, explained that their company has long facilitated international student internship programs. However, their specific partnership with Indonesia has only been established for the past two years.

"We have sent interns from several Indonesian campuses to credible hotels in Japan, including Yukai Resort. This program not only provides professional experience but also builds a cultural bridge between Japan and Indonesia," Tanaka remarked.

This activity is a vital part of Universitas Hamzanwadi's ongoing efforts to enhance graduate quality and expand its global network within the higher education sector. The university hopes that an increasing number of students will be able to develop their competencies and soft skills through international internship experiences.
