
Global Synergy: Hamzanwadi University Partners with South Korea's RPLAY Company Group
SELONG | April 29, 2025 – Hamzanwadi University has established a strategic partnership with RPLAY Company Group in the fields of arts, tourism, and teaching Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA). The signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) and cooperation agreement (MoA) was officially held in the Hamzanwadi University Meeting Room, witnessed by academics, students, and representatives from the RPLAY Company Group of South Korea.
The event, which took place in a local cultural atmosphere, began with welcoming guests using traditional Sasak dance, presean, and traditional clothing by students. The series of activities closed with a sharing session on the introduction of traditional Indonesian and Korean music attended by students of the Performing Arts Education Study Program (PSP).
In his remarks, the Chancellor of Hamzanwadi University, Dr. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalillah, M.Pd., said that this partnership is a concrete manifestation of the university's commitment to building a productive international network that is relevant to the needs of the times. "We hope that this collaboration will not only strengthen the capacity of institutions in the fields of arts and tourism, but also provide a positive contribution to the promotion of Bahasa Indonesia at the global level," he said.
Director of RPLAY Company Group, Mr. Ryu Eun Hyo, in his speech expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the academic community of Hamzanwadi University. He emphasized that this collaboration is based on the spirit of sharing and learning from each other between two different cultures. "We see great potential in Lombok, especially in the wealth of authentic local arts and culture. Through this collaboration, we want to contribute to cultural exchange and the development of an inclusive creative industry," said Mr. Ryu.
In line with this, the Dean of the Faculty of Languages, Arts, and Humanities of Hamzanwadi University, Dr. H. Mohzana, M.Pd., said that this collaboration will be an important catalyst in the development of academics and student art practices. "This activity provides a space for students to actualize not only to understand local culture, but also to broaden their horizons towards international arts and culture, especially from South Korea. The BIPA program that will be developed is also one of our faculty's strategic contributions in introducing Bahasa Indonesia to the world," he said.
Through this collaboration, Hamzanwadi University and RPLAY Company Group agreed to develop various joint programs, such as arts and tourism training, cultural content production, BIPA curriculum development, and field practice for students. It is hoped that this initiative will be the first step towards a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.
