Selong - The Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the Hamzanwadi University Student Press, Monday yesterday (12/30/2019) was officially formed and inaugurated. The event which took place in the Geography Laboratory room was attended directly by the Vice Chancellor III for Student Affairs, H. Musifuddin, M.Pd, President of the Hamzanwadi University Student Executive Board, Zulkarnain, the Hamzanwadi Press Advisory Board, Hamzanwadi Press People, and all invited guests from the Faculty BEM, UKM and HMPS throughout Hamzanwadi University.

On that occasion, the Vice Chancellor III warmly welcomed the formation of the Student Press UKM by giving advice to all the inaugurated Persma UKM administrators to continue the process of showing achievements through this UKM. "There is no achievement or event that suddenly comes, all through a process. One of the character education is teaching the Indonesian people to dare to be resilient in facing all forms of dynamics that occur, both in the community and on campus," he explained.

He said that, the strength of a person's life is not seen from how much money they have but comes from two things, namely communication and negotiation skills. This UKM Pers must grow and develop literacy through digital writing. "Communication and negotiation are things that must be held in the world of the Press," he said.

He continued that, at this time the UKM Pers functions to build a positive perception of the campus to be explored in the outside world. "UKM Pers Mahasiswa Hamzanwadi must be a means, vehicle and facility to continue learning in order to welcome the future," he said.

In addition, the student president, Zulkarnain QH who gave a speech and read the oath to all the inaugurated administrators, said that the term culture of dialogue is very important to be used as a guide in organizing. "We all must have a culture of dialogue, but currently most people are quicker to judge other people's mistakes. The essence of organizing is that it requires ideas and time," he said.

Next, an extraordinary welcome from the elected Chairperson of the Student Press, Ishak Baedhowi, explained about the existence of the Student Press in Indonesia, which is a democratic country, which means always involving people's participation in government and guaranteeing the fulfillment of basic rights of the people in the life of the nation and state. "One of the basic rights of the people that must be guaranteed is the freedom to express thoughts or opinions both verbally and in writing. In the past, the Press played an important role in the movement and struggle for independence, the values ​​of independence fought for by the founders of the nation were also disseminated to the Indonesian people by the press as well." he explained.

Ishak also believes that the Press also functions to voice something that is not voiced, to convey blocked aspirations, therefore the presence of the Student Press on campus is very important as a media or channel to convey aspirations and opinions. It is hoped that the Hamzanwadi University Student Press will be able to improve skills in various fields. "In this Press UKM, it is not only focused on journalism, but there are also divisions of Photography and Videography, Graphic Design, Entertainment, and Media and Publication, which are expected to be able to improve the skills of Hamzanwadi University students in various technology and communication skills," he said.

Then the inauguration ceremony was closed with a prayer led directly by the Hamzanwadi Press Advisory Board, Ramli Akhmad, M.Pd, with full hope that the Hamzanwadi University Student Press UKM would be able to become a bridge of information and aspirations for students, as well as institutions. "Hopefully all students, press people who are members of the Student Press UKM are able to actualize themselves into idealistic students, by prioritizing ethics and logical thinking," he prayed with full hope.
