
Hamzanwadi University Students Win Gold Medals at Singapore Open Track and Field Championship 2025
East Lombok - Hamzanwadi University student, Yad Hapizudin won a gold medal in the 1500-meter race in the prestigious 85th Singapore Open Track and Field Championship 2025, which was held on Thursday (24/4/2025).
The 2nd semester student of the Physical Education Study Program recorded an impressive time of 3 minutes 53 seconds, outperforming his competitors from various countries in Asia-Pacific. The victory made his name as one of the talented young athletes who made Indonesia proud.
Hamzanwadi University Chancellor Dr. Hj Sitti Rohmi Djalilah said that the Asia-Pacific level competition also succeeded in raising the Red and White in the country nicknamed the lion country as a symbol of pride for the Indonesian generation, especially Hamzanwadi University.
He emphasized that this success was not the result of an instant process, but the fruit of consistent training, family support, coaching, and the spirit of never giving up possessed by Yad.
"This achievement can be an inspiration for other students to continue to dare to dream big and work hard to make it happen," said the Deputy Governor of NTB for the 2018-2023 period.
Umi Rohmi also expressed her appreciation to the coach who had guided Yad to be able to appear on the international stage. She hopes that this achievement will be a spark of enthusiasm to continue producing potential young athletes who are able to compete on the global stage.
Not only that, this victory also opens up wider opportunities for Yad to participate in other championships at a higher level. Yad has just started college, so she hopes that in the future she will get more maximum guidance so that she can perform brilliantly in the future.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Physical Education Study Program, Herman Afrian, expressed his gratitude and happiness for this achievement. He admitted that winning a gold medal in a competition like the Singapore Open Track and Field Championship was an extraordinary thing.
According to him, Yad has dedicated this victory to his family, coach, and beloved alma mater, Hamzanwadi University. He also expressed his gratitude for all forms of support from all parties, both moral and material, during the preparation process until the implementation of the competition.
"Yad's success is real proof that the potential of local children, if honed and supported by a good coaching system, is able to compete at the international level," said the Undiksha doctoral student.
This achievement is expected to encourage all elements of society to continue to support the development of young talents in various fields, including sports.
