Hamzanwadi University Students Win MTQ Championship
One of Hamzanwadi University's students, Bagus Yudha Pratama, won 2nd place in the Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) competition for students throughout Lombok Island after eliminating his opponents from various universities on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara.
The competition event which lasted for two days, namely November 12 - November 14, 2020, which was held by the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Mataram, took place solemnly even in the midst of the corona virus disease (covid-19) pandemic with the theme "Forming a superior and synergistic Qur'anic generation by echoing Islamic propagation through MTQ in the pandemic era."
"Alhamdulillah, one of the students of the Physics Education Study Program at Hamzanwadi University, Bagus Yudha Pratama, won 2nd place in the men's tilawah competition in the 2020 Qur'an recitation competition (MTQ) organized by UKMI al Iqtishad for students throughout Lombok Island," said the Director of Cooperation and Public Relations of Hamzanwadi University, Dr. Muhammad Halqi, Sunday (11/15/2020).
Despite winning 2nd place, Halqi continued, the achievement achieved was quite proud because nowadays there are few students who can and want to learn to read the Qur'an with melodious chanting (Qur'an recitation) or what is known as "ngaser" in the Sasak language.
"We should be proud, the representative of Hamzanwadi University was able to achieve a proud achievement. On behalf of Hamzanwadi University, we congratulate Bagus Yudha Pratama who has brought a good name to the campus, especially the physics study program," said Halqi.
He hopes that this achievement can encourage students including the millennial generation to continue learning and practicing in order to achieve achievements even though currently the face-to-face learning process on campus still cannot be implemented.
"We will continue to encourage Hamzanwadi University students to continue to compete in all types of activities, both academic and non-academic," said the Postgraduate Lecturer and General Chairperson of the NW Youth Leadership Council.
