Hamzanwadi University's Guidance and Counseling Study Program Collaborates with UNNES to Hold National Guidance and Counseling Seminar
Monday - The Guidance and Counseling Study Program (BK) of Hamzanwadi University (UNHAM) together with the BK Study Program of Semarang State University (UNNES), and the Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association (ABKIN) NTB held a signing ceremony for a Memorendum of Agreement (MoA) as well as holding a National Counseling and Guidance Seminar.
The activity raised the theme of "Professional Commitment of Guidance and Counseling in the Era of Independent Learning".
This event took place at the Hamzanwadi University Auditorium which was attended by participants from various circles, namely lecturers, BK Teachers throughout Lotim, and Students. It seems that those who attended this event were not only participants with a BK background, students from other departments also participated in exploring the knowledge presented by the speakers.
At the opening of the event, Abdullah Muzakkar M.Si as the dean of the Faculty of Education, Hamzanwadi University, said "In this era of independent learning, we must be able to change the stigma and paradigm of society regarding BK teachers who are nicknamed scary teachers, school police and so on. BK teachers must take full part in solving student problems, continue to increase capacity and work professionally".
In addition, the chairman of the Indonesian Guidance and Counseling Association (ABKIN) NTB, Dr. H. Musifuddin, M.Pd said, "the purpose of this seminar and collaboration is in the context of collaboration to improve the scientific competence of Guidance and Counseling students of both universities. In the era of independent learning initiated by the ministry today, if we look at it from all perspectives, there is actually child autonomy in learning and teacher autonomy in teaching. We hope that there will be independence from BK teachers and students in particular, namely freedom from all problems."
The challenges for BK teachers in the practical level process in the field are very difficult, especially in today's digital era. Today's digitalization has penetrated all dimensions, regardless of space and time. The problems experienced by students are increasingly complex, therefore reliable prospective counselors are needed who are able to conquer future challenges.
The keynote speakers were lecturers from UNNES, namely Dr. Awalya Mp.d Kons. and from UNHAM Dr. Ridawan Mp.d. and Dr. H. Musifuddin Mp. d. Not only that, in this activity, there was also a presentation of the research results of BK students as many as 3 teams from UNNES and 3 teams from UNHAM, with a parallel discussion method so that the activity looked lively because of the active exchange of ideas from the speakers and the audience.
