Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Socializes Permendikbud 44 and 50 of 2024 at Hamzanwadi University

East Lombok – The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) through the Higher Education Service Institute (LLDikti) Region VIII held a socialization of the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture (Permendikbud) No. 44 and 50 of 2024.

This activity took place in the meeting room of Hamzanwadi University and was attended by all private universities in East Lombok, Wednesday (04/12/2024). This socialization focused on the dissemination of lecturer performance, providing new insights related to the regulation of the profession and career of lecturers.

In Permendikbud No. 44 of 2024, a number of important points are stated, including clarifying the regulation of the lecturer profession, simplifying regulations related to the appointment, transfer, and certification of lecturers.

Other points include increasing the autonomy of universities in managing lecturer careers, protecting lecturer employment rights, clarifying lecturer career levels, and regulating lecturer income and allowances.

In addition to providing protection and career certainty for lecturers, this socialization also discussed PERMENDIKBUD No. 50 of 2024 which regulates the quality assurance of higher education.

"These two regulations are expected to be a stronger foundation in improving the professionalism of lecturers and the quality of higher education in Indonesia," said Vice Chancellor of Hamzanwadi University Dr. Abdullah Muzakkar, M.Sc.

He expressed his gratitude for the presence of LLDikti at Hamzanwadi University while emphasizing the importance of synergy between universities and the government to ensure that the implementation of the two regulations runs optimally.

"This regulation not only provides clarity on the rights and obligations of lecturers, but also ensures that the quality of higher education in Indonesia continues to increase through standardized quality assurance," he said.

He also expressed his readiness to immediately follow up on the results of this socialization at Hamzanwadi University, conducting a study related to the mechanism for implementing this regulation so that it is in accordance with needs and still refers to the standards of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.

"We are ready to formulate internal strategies and policies so that these two regulations can be implemented. This will also be part of the commitment to improving the professionalism of lecturers and ensuring that students get the best education," he said.

With this socialization, it is hoped that all universities in East Lombok can work together to encourage the transformation of higher education towards a more adaptive, professional, and competitive system.

This activity also received appreciation from the participants who saw it as a strategic step to improve the higher education ecosystem. "This socialization is a breath of fresh air for us, lecturers, because it provides certainty and better protection in carrying out professional duties," said one of the participants.
