New Volunteer Gathering of the Disability Service Center (PLD) 2025: "Improving the Quality of Volunteers for Inclusive Access Together Creating Real Change"

On January 18-19, 2025, Hamzanwadi University enthusiastically held the 2025 New Volunteer Gathering of the Disability Service Center (PLD). This event is a new milestone in our steps to create a more inclusive, disability-friendly, and opportunity-filled campus for all students. Attended by 150 Participants. 112 PLD volunteers, as well as invited guests from various organizations, including Gerkatin (Indonesian Deaf Welfare Movement), alumni, and students with disabilities, this event brought together various parties who share the same commitment to realizing education without limits.

The event began with an inspiring speech from the Vice Chancellor 1 of Hamzanwadi University, who opened the event with extraordinary enthusiasm and energy. He said that PLD's journey began in 2021 at the Faculty of Education. Thanks to the dedication and struggle of many parties, in 2022, PLD was appointed as an official institutional unit at Hamzanwadi University. This shows Hamzanwadi University's commitment to supporting diversity, equality, and inclusion in the world of education, providing equal opportunities to every student, without exception.

PLD has a strong basic principle that every individual, regardless of their background and physical condition, has the right to equal access to education. Disability is not a deficiency, but a challenge that we must face together. PLD is here to break down all barriers that prevent students with disabilities from accessing decent and quality education. We believe that disability is not a limitation of potential, but an opportunity to show that everyone is able to contribute to the world of education.

In this gathering activity, new PLD volunteers were provided with inclusiveness materials, this aims to provide new knowledge that is useful for student self-development in inclusive education.
