International Lecture Series, Friday, July 4, 2025 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM)

As a commitment to continuously improve the quality of student research, the Postgraduate Program of Universitas Hamzanwadi invited one of the leading professors from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Gazi Mahabubul Alam, Ph.D, in a public lecture on scientific research attended by 82 postgraduate students.

In the inspiring lecture, Prof. Gazi delivered eight basic principles in research that serve as an important foundation for young researchers, namely:
    1. Education is the backbone of a nation.
    2. The more you read, the more you learn.
    3. Knowledge is like power.
    4. Power is like knowledge.
    5. Prevention is better than cure.
    6. There is no one size that fits all.
    7. Early to bed and early to rise makes a person healthy, wealthy, and wise.
    8. The more night lights, the stronger the economy.

The presence of Prof. Gazi, who comes from an institution ranked 148th in the world according to QS World University Rankings and 4th best in Southeast Asia according to QS Asia, became a valuable moment for the academic community of Universitas Hamzanwadi.

The Director of the Postgraduate Program, Dr. Padlurrahman, stated that this lecture is the first step in a continuous program to strengthen research methodology. “We will follow this up with a scheduled online lecture series in the field of research methodology,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Vice Rector III of Universitas Hamzanwadi, Dr. H. Musipuddin, in his remarks expressed appreciation to the UPM management for the warm welcome and facilitation of this academic activity. “We hope this kind of collaboration continues so that the academic reputation of both institutions will increase. Moreover, UPM and Universitas Hamzanwadi were born in a similar era, only two years apart,” he added.

This event was officially opened by the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Educational Studies of UPM who oversees international collaboration. He opened the event with a traditional Malay poem ( pantun ) that reflected the spirit of collaboration, especially in the fields of research, international seminars, public lectures, and other scholarly programs.

On this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Nor Aniza Binti Ahmad, as Deputy Dean (Postgraduate and International), also gave a speech and expressed her appreciation for this collaboration.

“We warmly welcome Universitas Hamzanwadi to UPM and hope that this collaboration continues to grow toward a more productive direction. Postgraduate students are ambassadors of knowledge, and international collaborations like this will open more opportunities for them to grow academically and professionally,” said Prof. Nor Aniza.
