East Lombok – Hamzanwadi University and the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Museum officially established a strategic partnership in the form of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), Tuesday (03/09/2024).
This event took place at the NTB museum building and was witnessed by the leaders of both institutions, Tuesday (03/09/2024). Present were Vice Chancellor Hamzanwadi Dr. Abdullah Muzakar, Secretary of Cooperation Jamaluddin, M.Eng, Coordinator of Tourism Study Program Ramli, M.Par and Head of the NTB Museum along with staff.
The MoU and MoA signed were related to the implementation of an internship program for Hamzanwadi University students at the NTB Museum. This program is designed to provide opportunities for students to develop practical skills in the fields of museum management, history, and culture.
Vice Chancellor of Hamzanwadi University Dr. Abdullah Muzakar said that this collaboration is an important step in enriching students' learning experience amidst the advancement of sophisticated technology, but ignoring the understanding of local knowledge and traditions that are the heritage of our ancestors.
"We greatly appreciate the willingness of the NTB Museum to become a partner in developing student competencies. This collaboration not only provides practical experience for students, but strengthens the relationship between academics and cultural institutions in the NTB region," he said.
According to him, in the current era of globalization, practical skills and field experience are becoming increasingly crucial in preparing students to face the world of work. Therefore, his party always strives to provide the best, relevant, and applicable in the real world.
"Through collaboration with the NTB Museum, we are sure that our students will get a golden opportunity to apply their knowledge in an environment rich in historical and cultural values," said Muzakar.
This collaboration is also in line with the vision and mission of Hamzanwadi University to become an educational institution that is oriented towards developing local potential. Lombok, as part of NTB, has extraordinary cultural wealth.
Through the internship program at the NTB Museum, students will not only learn the technical aspects of museum management, but will also better understand and appreciate cultural heritage. This is an opportunity to dive into history, traditions, and values that will enrich perspectives as a generation.
In addition, he hopes that this experience will encourage students to be more creative and innovative in contributing new ideas that can help develop museums and preserve culture.
"The NTB Museum has a strategic role in educating the public about the importance of preserving and appreciating our cultural heritage. Thus, this collaboration not only provides benefits for students, but also for the museum itself, as well as the wider community," he explained.
He hopes that this collaboration can be a model for other collaborations in the future, both with the NTB Museum and with other institutions that have similar visions and missions in developing education and culture.
"Thank you to the NTB Museum for the trust and partnership that has been established. We are optimistic that with this collaboration, together we can create a significant positive impact on the development of education and cultural preservation in NTB," he concluded.
