FK Hamzanwadi Holds Free Health Check-up at Taman Rinjani Selong CFD
Selong, November 30, 2025 — The Fakultas Kedokteran (FK), or Faculty of Medicine, at Hamzanwadi held its inaugural community service activity at the Car Free Day (CFD) in Taman Rinjani Selong. This event also marked the official opening of the New Student Admission (PMB) for the 2025/2026 academic year. This activity reinforces FK Hamzanwadi’s commitment to serve not only its academic community but also the wider population of East Lombok.
The free health check-up focused on testing blood pressure and blood sugar as an early screening measure for the public. Starting from 7:00 AM WITA, hundreds of residents across various age groups—from 17 to 60 years old—enthusiastically lined up for the service. A total of more than 100 people received examinations.
A student from another private university commented that routine health checks are crucial for the younger generation to monitor their physical and mental condition early on, thereby preventing potential health issues. Meanwhile, an elderly resident who works for the prosecutor's office expressed that free services like this are highly beneficial, especially for the elderly population in East Lombok. He hoped that future doctors from FK Hamzanwadi would be able to serve even the remote corners of the region.
Support also came from the education sector. A high school principal in East Lombok encouraged 12th-grade students interested in medicine to choose FK Hamzanwadi, appreciating the establishment of the first Faculty of Medicine in the area.
The Vice Dean I of FK Hamzanwadi announced that community service activities at the CFD will continue to be held periodically in different locations to maximize their benefit. He also thanked all the lecturers, laboratory staff, academic personnel, and community members who participated in the health event at Taman Rinjani Selong CFD.
