Hundreds of Students Participate in 2026 Village Development Community Service Orientation, Hamzanwadi Emphasizes Service with Tangible Impact
Selong — Hamzanwadi University once again demonstrated its commitment to community service through the 2026 Village Development Community Service (KKN) Orientation, held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Panggung Putih, YPH PPD NWDI Pancor. This event represents a crucial stage in preparing students before they are deployed directly into the community.
The orientation was attended by various stakeholders, including the Rector of Hamzanwadi University, Dr. Ir. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, M.Pd., who officially opened the event; the Head of Planning, Control, and Regional Development Evaluation of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Firmansyah, S.Hut., M.Si.; the Village Head of Rarang Selatan, Muhammad; Assistant Manager of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) NTB, Yan Anjas Pratama; Junior Expert Statistician from East Lombok BPS, Ni Wayan Hari Wintari, together with Wicak Surya Hasani; and the Deputy Director of DPPM, Hamzanwadi University, Prof. Dr. H. Khirjan Nahdi, M.Hum.
In the activity report, the KKN Committee Chair, Dr. Ramli Akhmad, M.Pd., stated that a total of 531 students from three faculties—FMIPA, FISE, and FBSH—would participate in this year’s program. He emphasized that the orientation is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of work program planning, determining activity focus, and strategies for implementing programs that are relevant to village community needs.
“The orientation materials will be delivered directly by speakers from various institutions, allowing students to gain broad perspectives, ranging from regional development and economics to strengthening financial literacy and statistics,” he explained. He also added that the official deployment of KKN participants is scheduled for May 2, 2026.
In her speech, the Rector of Hamzanwadi University delivered a strong and inspiring message to all participants. She emphasized that KKN is not merely an academic requirement but an important opportunity to enhance social sensitivity and provide tangible solutions for communities.
“If you want your KKN experience to be meaningful, bring real benefits to the community. Don’t just show up and run a program; ensure that what you do has a real impact,” she urged.
Furthermore, the Rector recalled the message of Almaghfurulahu Maulana Syeikh TGKH. M. Zainuddin Abdul Madjid regarding the importance of being “a light that illuminates the entire world.” According to her, this value should serve as the foundation for students in applying their knowledge through sincere and impactful service.
She also stressed the importance of maintaining the good name of Hamzanwadi University while participating in the KKN. “You are the representation of our university in the community. Demonstrate the best conduct, ethics, and contributions so that your presence leaves a positive impression,” she added.
The orientation not only focused on the technical aspects of KKN implementation but also strengthened synergy between higher education institutions, local government, financial institutions, and other agencies in supporting village development. The presence of various speakers serves as evidence that Hamzanwadi University’s KKN is aimed at producing integrated, innovative, and sustainable programs.
With this orientation, it is expected that all KKN participants will be thoroughly prepared in terms of knowledge, skills, and mindset. More importantly, the KKN is envisioned as a real-world learning space for students to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, while contributing to the advancement, independence, and empowerment of village communities.
