East Lombok – The Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has established a partnership with Hamzanwadi University in preparation for the 2026 NTB Provincial Sports Week (Porprov). Through this partnership, 20 Hamzanwadi University students will be involved in the organizing committee for the 2026 Porprov, as part of an effort to strengthen human resources to support the success of the largest sporting event at the provincial level.

The coordination meeting for the event took place on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at the KONI East Lombok Regency Office. The meeting was attended by the Chairperson of KONI NTB, the Chairperson of KONI East Lombok Regency, KONI management, the Coordinator of the Physical Education Study Program at Hamzanwadi University, Dr. Nopi Hariadi, M.Pd., and Hamzanwadi University students who will serve on the Porprov committee.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of KONI NTB stated that student involvement is a strategic step in preparing professional and competent human resources for organizing sporting events. In addition to supporting the smooth implementation of the Provincial Sports Week (Porprov), students will also gain hands-on experience in sports management, competition administration, participant services, and large-scale event management.

The Chairman of the East Lombok Regency KONI (Indonesian Sports Committee) also expressed his appreciation for Hamzanwadi University's support in ensuring the success of the 2026 NTB Porprov. He stated that the presence of students will instill renewed enthusiasm and provide a concrete learning platform for professional sports governance.

Hamzanwadi University affirmed its commitment to continuously supporting regional sports development through experiential learning. Student involvement is expected to strengthen leadership, communication, teamwork, and managerial skills relevant to the workplace.

The 2026 NTB Porprov will not only be an inter-district/city sports competition but also part of athlete development for the National Sports Week (PON). Through the collaboration between the NTB KONI, the East Lombok KONI, and Hamzanwadi University, it is hoped that the 2026 Porprov will be a successful and professional event, producing young human resources ready to contribute to the advancement of sports in West Nusa Tenggara.
