Signing MoU with Kitakyushu University, Japan, Hamzanwadi University Ready to Research the Living Environment
Friday, August 26, 2022, a research team from Kitakyushu University, Japan visited Hamzanwadi University to sign an MoU for research collaboration in the environmental field. The group was welcomed by the Head of YPH PPD NWDI HM Djamaluddin at Hamzanwadi University. This collaboration concerns research collaboration between the two universities. The signing of the MoU between Kitakyushu University, Japan and Hamzanwadi University was signed by Prof. Yayoi Kodama as Head of the Laboratory of the Social Humanism Research Department and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Research Coordinator of Hamzanwadi University. "The arrival of professors from Japan to Hamzanwadi University is to establish cooperation in the context of the tridharma of higher education," said Djamaluddin, as the Head of YPH Pendidikan Hamzanwadi. After the signing, it was continued with a discussion and brief introduction about the campus, scope of research, brief technical implementation, and the expected results of this collaboration. Both parties discussed research in the environmental field such as waste, education, biology, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and others. On this occasion, the envoy from Kitakyusu University introduced other universities in Indonesia that collaborated with it, the objectives, and fields that cover the research that has been done and the potential for the future. The target of the researchers are elementary school teachers regarding environmental education for elementary school children based on an environmental teaching system. In addition, other topics such as natural disaster prevention and waste management will also be one of the topics that have the potential to be raised in this research theme.
The plan is for this collaboration to start in October 2022, but before this the team from Hamzanwadi University will conduct an environmental analysis and determine the theme for future research collaboration. "Hopefully in the future, this campus created by Maulanasyeikh will continue to play a role and rise to become the best campus and bring benefits to the community and be able to produce intelligent and competitive generations," hoped HM Djamaluddin. Vice Chancellor 1 Dr. Abdullah Muzakkar, M.Si, along with a number of high-ranking officials from Hamzanwadi University and a number of lecturers also attended the meeting.
