History and Transformation
The Faculty of Engineering of Hamzanwadi University has strong historical roots in the development of technology education in East Lombok. Initially, on March 23, 2002, the Wasyrin Najabah Education Institute (LPWN) Hamzanwadi Pancor was established, offering three majors: Computer Informatics, Computer Accounting, and Office Management. Until the last graduation in 2014, LPWN had graduated 851 students, with around 70% of them absorbed in the workforce.
Along with the increasing demand for alumni to continue their studies and the industry's need for professionals in the field of information technology, LPWN transformed into the Hamzanwadi College of Technology (STT). This change was ratified through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture No. 356/E/O/2013 on August 30, 2013, with three study programs: S1 Informatics Engineering, S1 Information Systems, and D3 Informatics Management.
On September 23, 2016, STT Hamzanwadi merged with the Hamzanwadi Selong Teacher Training and Education College (STKIP) to become Hamzanwadi University, based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education No. 428/KPT/I/2016. The Faculty of Engineering is one of five faculties at this university, with five study programs:
• S1 Informatics Engineering
• S1 Information Systems
• S1 Computer Engineering
