60 Hamzanwadi University Tourism Students Undertake Internships with 17 Industry Partners

Pancor – The Tourism Study Program at Hamzanwadi University is once again strengthening experience-based learning by implementing an internship program for seventh-semester students. A total of 60 students are participating in a one-semester internship—running from August 24 to December 31, 2026—placed with 17 partners from the business and industrial sectors.

This internship program is designed to provide students with opportunities to develop competencies while gaining direct experience in a work environment relevant to the tourism field. Student placements span various industry segments, ranging from tourist destinations and the hospitality industry to travel agencies.

The internship locations are not limited to Lombok; they are distributed across several regions, including East Lombok, Central Lombok, West Lombok, Mataram City, Gili Trawangan, Bali, and Yogyakarta. This distribution allows students to familiarize themselves with diverse tourism characteristics and management practices.

The 17 industry partners hosting the internships include Penglipuran Tourism Village (Bangli, Bali); Nona Lodge (Tete Batu); Aranka Tempasan (Pringgasela); Krebet Tourism Village (Bantul, Yogyakarta); Innit Lombok (Ekas Beach); Paremas Mangrove Ecotourism; Jabal Rahmah Educational Tourism (Central Lombok); PT Travelago (Gelang/Mataram); Praja Coffee and Bungalow (Loyok); The Jayakarta Lombok Resort & Spa (Senggigi); Heroes' Cemetery Religious Tourism Site (Pancor); Jambuluwuk Oceano Resort (Gili Trawangan); Sembalun Homestay; Pokdarwis Petarando (Sambelia); SVarga (Senggigi); NTB State Museum (Mataram); and Bilebante Tourism Village (Central Lombok).

Through this program, students are required not only to understand the theories learned in the classroom but also to apply them in real-world work situations. This experience is expected to strengthen students' professional skills, adaptability, and communication abilities, as well as deepen their understanding of the dynamics of the tourism industry. The internship program is part of the Hamzanwadi University Tourism Study Program's efforts to forge stronger ties between higher education and the demands of the professional world. Collaborations with various industry partners are expected to provide relevant learning experiences while preparing graduates who are competent and competitive within the tourism sector.

By undertaking internships across diverse regions and industry sectors, students are expected to seize these opportunities to broaden their horizons, build professional networks, and develop the competencies needed to enter the workforce upon completing their studies.
