680 Hamzanwadi University Students Ready to Become Entrepreneurs, Making Grand Launching Day 2026 a Success
Pancor – Hamzanwadi University, through its Center for Innovation and Business Incubator (PIIB), held the Grand Launching Day (GLD) for the Project-Based Entrepreneurship Program as the culmination of the implementation of entrepreneurship courses this semester. The event, held at the Hamzanwadi Sports Hall on Monday (July 27th), was officially opened by the Rector of Hamzanwadi University, who emphasized the importance of strengthening an entrepreneurial culture as part of the effort to produce innovative, independent, and competitive graduates.
In his remarks, the Rector stated that universities play a strategic role in equipping students not only with academic competencies but also the ability to create business opportunities that can provide economic and social benefits. Through the GLD, students gain real-world experience in developing, promoting, and marketing products and services designed during their studies.
The Head of the PIIB at Hamzanwadi University (Fahrurrozi, M.Pd.) explained that the GLD is a medium for implementing entrepreneurial theory into real-world practice. In addition to being part of the course evaluation, this activity also aims to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem within Hamzanwadi University by generating innovative and sustainable business ideas.
This semester, the program was implemented through a collaboration between PIIB and 25 lecturers from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences (FISE), and the Faculty of Languages, Literature, and Humanities (FBSH). A total of 680 students participated in the program, mentored by practitioners from the BRI Research Institute, the Ministry of Tourism, the East Lombok Regency Office of Trade, Cooperatives, and MSMEs, and MSMEs from West Nusa Tenggara and the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
To maintain the quality of the students' business projects, the committee applied five assessment criteria: innovation and uniqueness, feasibility and business potential, product quality, impact and usefulness, and presentation and business pitch. Based on the evaluation results, the quality of the students' projects showed an improvement compared to the previous semester.
While various challenges remain in the program's implementation, it is certain that the students have gained comprehensive experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating a business. This experience is expected to be a valuable asset for the birth of young entrepreneurs who are able to contribute to regional and national economic development.
