Hamzanwadi University Launches Z Coffee Hening, a Tangible Example of Disability Empowerment
East Lombok – Hamzanwadi University, in collaboration with the National Alms Agency (Baznas) of the Republic of Indonesia, officially launched Z Coffee Hening, an inclusive cafe managed by people with disabilities, on Thursday (July 9) in Pancor, East Lombok. Carrying the tagline "Finding Peace in Every Sip," the cafe embodies the commitment to providing an inclusive business space while strengthening the economic independence of people with disabilities.
The inauguration was attended by Hamzanwadi University Rector Dr. Ir. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, M.Pd., East Lombok Deputy Regent H. Edwin Hadiwijaya, MM, representatives from Baznas NTB, academics, organizations for people with disabilities, partners, and other invited guests.
In his remarks, the Rector emphasized that Z Coffee Hening is part of Hamzanwadi University's commitment to being an inclusive campus that not only provides access to education but also creates employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for people with disabilities.
This program is a collaborative effort between Hamzanwadi University and Baznas RI, implemented through the *Mustahik* (Zakat Beneficiary) Economic Empowerment Program. It is managed by Hamzanwadi University’s Disability Services Center (PLD) in partnership with the Nahda Amanah Darunnahdlatain Marketing Cooperative and Gerkatin East Lombok.
A representative from Baznas NTB expressed hope that the support for Z Coffee Hening would generate both economic benefits and sustainable social impact. Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of East Lombok commended the collaboration as a creative business model that goes beyond profit-seeking to provide equal employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
Through Z Coffee Hening, Hamzanwadi University hopes to enable more individuals with disabilities to develop their skills, enhance their economic independence, and actively participate in community development through productive and inclusive enterprise.
