Hamzanwadi University's ESC Student Activity Unit Successfully Holds National-Level English Competition, Attracting Hundreds of Participants from Across Indonesia

Pancor – The English Speaking Club (ESC) of Hamzanwadi University successfully held its first national-level English competition. This event marked a significant milestone for the organization in providing a healthy, high-quality, and competitive national competition space for Indonesian students.

The competition received a very positive response, with hundreds of participants from various regions across Indonesia participating. Participants came from various provinces, including Sumatra, Lampung, Riau, Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Papua. The competition was conducted in two stages. All participants first took part in an online preliminary round, providing equal opportunity for participants from all regions to compete. Of the hundreds of applicants, the top 40 participants advanced to the final round and were invited to participate in the offline competition on Lombok Island.

During the final round, participants demonstrated their best skills in various English language competitions, which required communication skills, critical thinking, creativity, and public speaking. The competition was held in a competitive, sporting, and spirited atmosphere, while also providing a platform for networking among students from various regions in Indonesia.

One of the main attractions of the competition was the Grand Prize, an Edutrip ticket to Malaysia, awarded to the Grand Champion. This prize served as a token of appreciation for the participants' achievements and as motivation for the younger generation to continue improving their competencies and broadening their horizons through international learning experiences.

The competition's prestige was further enhanced by the presence of Dr. Ahmad Munjizun, Ph.D., as one of the judges. His presence drew special attention from both participants and the public, as he is known as an Indonesian academic with international acclaim.

Dr. Ahmad Munjizun holds a doctoral degree (Ph.D.) from North Carolina State University, United States. His name previously gained public attention after a video of his graduation speech circulated widely on social media and garnered praise for his fluent, confident, and unscripted delivery.

Anton Samudra Fasai, Top Leader of the English Speaking Club (ESC) at Hamzanwadi University, stated that the success of this inaugural national competition was the result of the hard work of the entire committee, as well as the support of Hamzanwadi University, the panel of judges, partners, and various other parties who contributed to its success.

"This competition is not just about finding a winner, but also provides a space for Indonesia's young generation to learn, grow, build self-confidence, and expand their networks through a spirit of healthy competition. We hope this event can become an annual national event that continues to grow and have a positive impact on the world of education," he said.

The success of this inaugural national competition is a proud achievement for the English Speaking Club at Hamzanwadi University. In addition to providing a platform for developing the potential of students, this activity also strengthens the organization's presence at the national level and introduces Hamzanwadi University to the wider community as a higher education institution that actively promotes achievement, innovation, and the development of globally competitive human resources.

Through this activity, the English Speaking Club UKM hopes to continue to present quality competitions, expand the reach of participants from all over Indonesia, and produce a young generation that is superior, confident, and ready to contribute at the national and international levels.
