The Indonesian National Commission on Disabilities (KND) Commends Z Coffee Hening, Deemed a Model for Empowering People with Disabilities
Pancor – The Indonesian National Commission on Disabilities (KND) expressed its appreciation for Hamzanwadi University's commitment to empowering people with disabilities through Z Coffee Hening, an inclusive coffee shop managed with the involvement of people with disabilities. This appreciation was expressed by KND Commissioner Eka Prastama Widianta during a visit to Z Coffee Hening on the Hamzanwadi University campus on Friday (July 24, 2026).
The visit was welcomed by the Vice Rector I of Hamzanwadi University. On that occasion, Eka Prastama Widianta witnessed firsthand the management concept of Z Coffee Hening, which provides a space for people with disabilities to create, work, and develop their potential independently.
According to Eka, the presence of Z Coffee Hening is a concrete example of the implementation of inclusive education and empowerment. He believes Hamzanwadi University has demonstrated a strong commitment to providing equal opportunities for people with disabilities through the support of the Disability Service Center (PLD).
"Programs like this are a concrete example of how universities can provide opportunities for students with disabilities to develop and become independent. The initiative undertaken by Hamzanwadi University through the PLD (Learning and Learning Outreach Program) should be an inspiration and an example for other universities in Indonesia," he said.
In addition to visiting Z Coffee Hening, the KND RI Commissioner also attended the opening of the Inclusive Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Elementary and Junior High School Teachers held in Montong Gading, East Lombok. This activity is part of an effort to strengthen the implementation of inclusive education by increasing the capacity of educators to provide friendly educational services for all students, including those with disabilities.
This visit further reaffirms Hamzanwadi University's commitment as an inclusive campus that not only provides access to education for people with disabilities but also presents various empowerment programs that have a real impact in supporting their independence, equality, and well-being within the community.
