Surakarta – Universitas Hamzanwadi has once again achieved national distinction by winning the UNS–KND Inclusion Metric 2026 Award. This honor recognizes the university's commitment to fostering an inclusive, adaptive, and disability-friendly higher education environment.

The award was presented during the gala evening of the Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Outstanding Achievers Awards and the UNS–KND Inclusion Metric 2026 ceremony, held as part of the university's 50th-anniversary celebrations. The event took place at the GPH Haryo Mataram Auditorium in Surakarta, Central Java, on Tuesday evening (July 28, 2026).

The UNS–KND Inclusion Metric is a collaborative initiative between Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) and the National Commission on Disabilities (KND). It honors higher education institutions that have successfully developed inclusive educational ecosystems, provided equal access, and supported the fulfillment of rights for individuals with disabilities within the campus community.

Universitas Hamzanwadi was represented at the event by its Vice Rector II, who attended at the invitation of the UNS Rector to accept the award. This recognition demonstrates that Universitas Hamzanwadi has met various assessment indicators for inclusive education—ranging from the provision of accessible facilities and support services for students with disabilities to curriculum development that ensures equal learning opportunities for the entire academic community.

Universitas Hamzanwadi Vice Rector II, Dr. Hj. Dukha Yunitasari, S.H., M.Pd., stated that the award serves as motivation for the university to further strengthen its commitment to providing higher education that is open to everyone, free from discrimination. According to him, inclusive education is not merely about providing facilities and infrastructure; it also involves fostering an academic culture that values ​​diversity, equality, and the active participation of all students in the learning process.

This award further reinforces Universitas Hamzanwadi’s standing as an institution consistently dedicated to advancing inclusive education in Indonesia. The various programs implemented through its Disability Services Center (PLD) serve as tangible evidence of the university's commitment to creating a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, and accessible for students with disabilities.

Through this achievement, Universitas Hamzanwadi hopes to continue inspiring other higher education institutions to develop inclusive educational ecosystems and to strengthen collaborations with various stakeholders in realizing a higher education system that is equitable, sustainable, and accessible to all segments of society.
